Our calm, private therapy space in Mequon
Are you experiencing this?
A constant sense of dread or worry that something bad is about to happen
Feeling overwhelmed by everyday decisions or situations that didn't used to bother you
Difficulty sleeping, or waking up already feeling exhausted and anxious
Losing interest in things you used to enjoy, or feeling numb and disconnected
Irritability, restlessness, or a short fuse that doesn't feel like you
Negative thoughts on repeat — self-doubt, self-criticism, or feeling like a burden
Avoiding people, places, or situations because they feel like too much
Physical symptoms like chest tightness, racing heart, nausea, or difficulty breathing
Feeling like you're falling behind or barely holding it together
If any of this resonates with you, you don’t have to navigate it alone.
Anxiety and depression aren't just feelings — they're patterns. And patterns can change.
Both anxiety and depression tend to reinforce themselves over time. Anxious thoughts lead to avoidance, which feeds more anxiety. Low mood leads to withdrawal, which deepens depression. It can feel like there's no way out — but these cycles aren't permanent.
Therapy works by helping you understand what's driving those patterns and giving you practical tools to interrupt them. Not overnight, and not without effort — but with real, lasting results for people who commit to the work.
What to expect in sessions
Sessions are collaborative and paced around you — not a rigid protocol or homework-heavy program. Here's what working together typically looks like:
We start by understanding what anxiety or depression looks like specifically for you — your triggers, your patterns, your history
We identify the thought cycles and behaviors that are keeping you stuck, and why they're hard to break on your own
You'll build practical tools — from CBT and DBT — to manage anxious thoughts, regulate mood, and respond to hard moments differently
We'll track what's working, adjust what isn't, and celebrate progress that's easy to overlook when you're in the middle of it
You don't need to come in with the perfect words or a clear explanation of what's wrong. We'll figure it out together.
Taking the first step is often the hardest part.
A free 15-minute consultation is low-pressure — just a chance to share what's been going on and see if we'd be a good fit.

Your therapist: Elizabeth Gross, LPC
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Mequon, and anxiety and depression are at the center of much of the work I do. I've seen how relentless these experiences can be — and how much things can shift when the right support is in place.
My approach is warm, direct, and grounded in evidence-based care. I draw primarily from CBT and DBT because they work — not just in research, but in real sessions with real people. I'll help you understand what's driving your anxiety or depression, give you tools that fit your actual life, and be honest with you about what progress looks like.
I'm currently accepting new clients. I'd love to connect.
You've been carrying this long enough.
Asking for help isn't giving up — it's the first move toward actually feeling better. Start with a free 15-minute consultation. No commitment, no pressure.
