Trauma and loss can affect your body, emotions, and sense of safety in ways that aren’t always obvious — especially over time.
You may be experiencing:
A sense of numbness, heaviness, or feeling emotionally shut down.
Intrusive memories, reminders, or waves of emotion that come out of nowhere.
Feeling on edge, easily startled, or constantly scanning for danger.
Difficulty sleeping, resting, or feeling fully present.
Pulling away from others or feeling disconnected from yourself.
Guilt, anger, or confusion surrounding a loss or past experience.
Feeling “stuck” — moving through life while something inside remains unresolved.
Are you dealing with this after Trauma or Loss?
If any of this resonates with you, you don’t have to navigate it alone.
You don’t need to come to therapy with the right words or a clear story. We’ll move at a pace that feels manageable, focusing first on creating a sense of safety and steadiness. There’s no pressure to revisit painful experiences before you’re ready.
We’ll begin by getting to know what you’ve been carrying and what feels most important to address right now
Therapy may focus on helping your nervous system feel safer and more grounded in the present
You’ll learn gentle, practical tools to manage overwhelming emotions, triggers, or moments of shutdown
When and if it feels appropriate, we can explore past experiences or losses in a way that feels contained and supported
Sessions are collaborative, flexible, and guided by your needs — not a one-size-fits-all approach

Who Will I be Working With?
Meet Elizabeth
Elizabeth Gross is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Mequon, WI, offering individual therapy for trauma, grief, and loss. She is currently accepting new clients, including adolescents (ages 13–18) and adults (18+).
Elizabeth’s approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in trauma-informed, evidence-based care. She draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and skills-based Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support emotional regulation, grounding, and coping with overwhelming thoughts and feelings. Sessions are paced thoughtfully, honoring each person’s readiness and lived experience.
She works to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can move at their own pace—building steadiness, practical coping tools, and a deeper sense of trust in themselves throughout the healing process.
Reaching out can feel like a big step, but you don’t have to have everything figured out before starting. A free consultation is a chance to ask questions, explore whether therapy feels like a good fit, and decide what feels right for you.
