You don't have to keep feeling this way.

Most people who reach out for CBT aren't looking for a diagnosis — they're just exhausted from fighting their own mind. You might recognize some of this:

  • You know your anxiety isn't "rational," but that doesn't make it easier to shut off

  • You replay conversations, decisions, or mistakes long after they're over

  • You feel stuck in the same patterns — in your mood, your relationships, or your daily life

  • Stress or low mood has become your baseline, and you're not sure what "better" would even look like

  • You want real tools — not just someone to vent to

If any of this sounds familiar, CBT might be exactly what you've been looking for.

What is CBT — and how does it actually work?

CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) is built on a straightforward idea: your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are all connected. When one shifts, the others follow.

Over time, most of us develop thought patterns that made sense at some point — but now they're keeping us stuck. Things like assuming the worst, being overly critical of yourself, or avoiding situations that trigger anxiety. These patterns tend to reinforce themselves, which is why they're so hard to shake on your own.

CBT helps you step back, notice what's happening, and start to change it — in a way that's structured, practical, and actually sticks.

What CBT sessions actually look like

Sessions are active and collaborative — this isn't a space where you talk while someone nods. Together, we'll:

  • Identify the thought patterns that are keeping you stuck, anxious, or overwhelmed

  • Examine where those patterns come from and how they play out in real situations

  • Build practical tools to challenge unhelpful thinking and respond differently

  • Practice those tools between sessions so the work carries into your daily life

Sessions are paced around you — there's no script, no checklist, and no pressure to move faster than you're ready for.

CBT may be a good fit if you're dealing with:

  • Anxiety, worry, or panic

  • Depression or persistent low mood

  • Stress, burnout, or overwhelm

  • Overthinking, rumination, or self-criticism

  • Pregnancy & postpartum emotional challenges

  • Grief, loss, or major life transitions

  • Relationship patterns or conflict

  • Low self-esteem or feeling stuck

Not sure if CBT is the right fit? That's exactly what the free consultation is for.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Mequon, WI, and CBT is at the core of how I work. I use it not because it's trendy, but because I've seen what happens when people genuinely start to understand and shift the patterns that have kept them stuck — sometimes for years.

My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. I'll challenge you when it's helpful and give you room to breathe when you need it. I work with adults and adolescents (13+) navigating anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and more — in person in Mequon or via telehealth across Wisconsin.

I'm currently accepting new clients. I'd love to connect.
